Epiphany Poem by Meng Lim Dr

Epiphany

When I am sad and see children at play laughing in gay abandon, my mood immediately changes-
I stop short and feel that, in a bigger scheme of things, life offers hope and has intrinsic value as its fullest potential is yet to be discovered by these children when they come to their own. These children will
be inheritors of the earth and will be the voice for a new and nobler humanity. What we have left undone will find fruition in their creative endeavours. One generation passes and is succeeded by another. We do not die as what we have left behind will be immortalised in the continuing work being carried on in this succession. Let's not neglect or default in our duties. Let's leave behind a worthwhile legacy. Let our lives be an epiphany of goodness and virtue.
