'Equal Custody' Poem by Stanley Joseph Vinet Jr. Vinet

'Equal Custody'

Slowly and steadily the world turns;
I hang on for dear little lives.
For the end I try not to yearn.
I dig down deep and push faster;
Gotta push forward and try to become Times master.
To be there and done already I envision;
My baby's in our house sitting in the kitchen.
However;
The ache and haze of being stagnant and still;
Cultures cries take it steady jelly belly - pop a pill.
To the heavens I silently cry;
Fix me already Dear Lord!
Or take me to your throne!
37 years a vagabond;
Trying to reach my American Dream.
But now my babies have no Daddy at home.
Tired of their tears 'cause Daddy's gone...
