Eros, My Ally, (My Adversity) Poem by Aman Mulji

Eros, My Ally, (My Adversity)

I met a treasure today,
And time ceased my heartbeat,
But I still listened for an omen of my being,
Even if my bygone memoirs assailed this will,
I searched through this empty earth,
I found nothing yet I lived on,
For Eros carves such ardor in me,
I live for you…

I can only just feel myself,
and when solitary – may I wail?
I am cold in this ordeal I’m enslaved in,
But in such a day I was warm,
For you ruined the chains of my grief,
Now I can recollect that gladness,
So as of this moment -
I am in your arrear…

Allow me to join you when you dream,
And let me be with you,
I wish for you to fall into the hands of Eros,
So that you can see me how I see you,
More striking than Venus herself,
She would kneel to you at once,
As an assembly of loneliness would,
Because I’d be near…
