Escape This Fate Poem by Saucy Elmo

Escape This Fate

If I had a dollar for every time I thought about you,
Baby, I'd be richer than the queen.
Right now I'm stranded at bat,
Waiting to dodge every curve ball you throw at me.

If I had a star for every time you gave me butterflies,
Baby, I'd give you the night sky.
Right now I'm waiting patiently,
For you to whisper three words while looking in my eyes.

Now I know that's naive of me,
To believe in what we used to have.
But the way we fit together so perfectly,
Is something that I'm willing to save.

If I had a dropp of water for every tear I cried,
Baby, I'd give you the ocean blue.
Don't apologize again,
Cause I forgave you long ago!

If I had wings I'd fly across the sky,
Baby, cause I'm wishing again you were mine.
I'll fly higher than the angels ever could.
If you'd take a chance I'm hoping you would.

Now I know that I'm holding on,
To nothing even though it's all still here.
What's holding me back from moving on,
Is the fact that you're still worth it all.

Now the water's rising.
Ready to wash out the tides.
To the bottom of the ocean it goes.
There's nowhere to hide!

Gonna swallow us whole.
Make us say goodbye one last time.
Can we escape this fate?
Will you save you and I?

Now I know that you're missing me.
No matter how deep inside, I see,
That you're scared, trust me, so am I.
But we're worth the fight, if you'll help me make this right.
