Escaping Escape Poem by Xenalee Louise

Escaping Escape

Escaping is what I am good at running in and out of trouble. Each time I get trapped I set aside my past and fight. Remmbering every exit and shortcut. My mind is my map and I am just a compass. Composed of metal. My only goal is to escape towards home. But what if at home? There is nowhere to escape to. All I am is a memory latching on to time. Here is where I am free. My mind has set me free at last. No need to remmber the exits or hallways. Free is where I am and always will be.
