Eternal Fire Poem by Shahid H Khan

Eternal Fire

We are burning in hell
For seven long years,
For sins not our own;
For sins, to us unknown.

It seems an eternal fire
Burning for ever,
Fury of which is so dire
And insatiable seems its ire.

It came from heavens
Like a bolt from the blue;
Like a tsunami from oceans
Which leaves nothing to rescue.

It descended on our daughter
And fouled her wisdom;
It clipped a flower
Before it could blossom.

O Lord, I ask thee,
What happened to thy mercy?
How a soul so noble, can be
Cursed with such cruelty?
