Eternity Poem by Kelsey Clark

Eternity

Heaven is not so far as it seems,
Though clouded by life's storms and heavy fog.
In their deceit they condense themselves around time
Leaving us separated from the majestic reality of the universe,
A universe filled with galaxies, stars, planets.

Fierce waves of violet and gold crash against life's stone walls;
Twinkles of silver light struggle to make themselves known
Through The thickness.
And we are in this tunnel separated from space,
Looking out from the cold dampness of the present.
Glancing back, dark memories threaten to surface from the shadows.
Faint moans are heard in the distance.

Yet I find myself entranced by what lies just outside these walls.
Fixed on the glorious masterpiece, the ultimate work of art,
I wonder how bright lights and swirling gases could produce such
Beauty.

Though my feet taste the wet, cold stones I walk on,
My eyes feast on the heavens in all their majesty
And I am filled with hope.
