Even For A Moment

I look at her with emptyness in my eyes,
Hope she knows all about my cries,
Wish to just spend my days with her,
Shadowed by the richness of her hair.

I just look at her face so beautiful,
And imagine both of us going so cheerful,
I feel the wetness on my lips,
And getting hugged planting a kiss,

Mesmerising eyes, appealing face,
A packet full of charm and unending grace,
Looking at her kills my sense,
Ignorance on her part turns me tense.

Within my limits I wish nothing more,
Just want she to be a wave, I the shore,
Come towards me and colour me in your paint,
Even if our union is destined for a moment!

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.

The Wind is hiding in the trees,
