Even in old age
One needs courage
Perhaps even greater courage
So much is dying within one's world and within one's self
There is so much to be disheartened by
But instead of lying in passive hopelessness
One must act and resist
And even pretend if necessary
That it all means as much as it once did
And that even one's dying
Will not stop one from fighting on
