Evening In Ravenshaw Poem by Smrutiranjan Parida

Evening In Ravenshaw

Sun sets and you go
Here are many people
Under the roof of Ravenshaw
One must feel so lonely
It is cigarette
That makes you realize
That the world has changed
Caterpillars
Do not really smoke
Nor do butterflies
Nor either the birds those fly away
I see, they see the changing color
Footpaths are just footpaths
Once they were for, perhaps, feet
Now they are for death driven tiredness
Body is cheaper than detergent powder
And flesh costs equal to wine
But everything sells here
From dreams to reality
Everything sells here
Caterpillars don't really smoke
Breezing bridge
Not London bridge
Is something not to look at
Mosquitos do not suck wine
Blood is cheaper these days
One must be careful these days
One must be playful these days
Being frenzy stuck
One must smile these days
Under the roof of Ravenshaw
One must feel so lonely
