Evergreens Poem by Edwina Reizer

Evergreens

When you see the greenery
of all green things that grow,
Cast your eyes upon them
before the winter snow
covers all the greenness
with flakes of downy white.
Underneath the earthly color
lies quiet in the night.
Awakening to the warmth
of the sun that's in the sky,
it feels the white all melting
and understands just why
it's constant and lasting
unaffected by the cold.
It gives comfort through the winter
to all that do behold
the greenery.
