Everlasting Love Poem by Linda Barnes

Everlasting Love

As years go by I wonder
How our lives may have been
If you had not died so young
And was with us all this time

All of your children have struggled
To heal our shattered lives
Still seeking your approval
Just to hear your voice

When all of us are together
Without fail we talk about you
Each one of us taking turns
Revealing things each never knew

Each of us remember you differently
Which is telling in itself
You managed to share your short life
Leaving an imprint that would last

It has been hard without you
Wanting to share our special times
From getting a job or promotion
To getting married and creating new life

We will struggle in our own way
Without having you here with us
Remembering how we were molded
By our Mother with everlasting love
