Every Sunday Morning Poem by Ray Hansell

Every Sunday Morning

Rating: 5.0

She was kind and thoughtful
To everyone she'd meet
To a standing senior
She's always yield her seat

Harsh and angry words
Never left her lips
You'd never hear a curse word
Never she said, if you use those lips to kiss

She never spoke bad of anyone
She never put people down
Her love and respect for people
She would always pass around

Now every Sunday morning
I'd see her walk by
She always wore a smile
Always said a friendly, hi

She'd say, today is the Lords day
I must show my respect
I have to go and talk with him
It's something I can't neglect

All the things I have in life
Are because of Him
I always thank Him for my success
Because I'll always remember when

It wasn't too many years ago
When I was homeless and broke
Then one night I spoke to God
A light shined, and I found hope

Now ever since that special night
When we had that talk
I knew from that moment on
Together through life we'd walk

I have never left Him
He, has never left me
The life that I'm now living
Is because He helped me to see
