Everyone Has A First Name And A Last Name Poem by Hebert Logerie

Everyone Has A First Name And A Last Name

Everyone has a first name and a last name
But I won't call you something that brings you shame.

I will not call you by your color
I will not you by your ethnicity
I will not call you by your odor
I will not call you by your nationality.

Everyone has a nickname or a street name
But I won't call you something that brings you blame.

I will not call your by the way you walk
I will not call you by your association
I will not call you by the way you talk
I will not call you by your connection.

Some people have a surname or a middle name
Some people have a baby name or a game name.

I will call you sir or Mr., if I forget your name
I will call you Miss. or Ms., if I forget your name
I will call you Mrs. or Madam, if I forget your name
But I won't call you a name that brings you shame.

Everyone has a night name or a school name
But I won't call you something that brings you blame.

I will call you by your elected position that you've earned
I will call you: president, senator, mayor and congressman
I'll call you: Pope, governor, sheriff, pastor and congresswoman
I'll respect you and call you by proper names that I've learned.

Everyone has a first name and a last name
But I won't call you something that brings you shame.
