Everyone Has Scars Poem by Jim Boone

Everyone Has Scars

A past
with unanswered questions
Fears
with untested resolutions
hesitation to trust
too many miles
with no apparent gain.

Everyone is a healer
when you touch and hold
hug and say, 'I love you'
or let the hug speak for itself.

Everyone is everyone
eyes open or closed
accepting or rejecting
aware or not
cool and confident
or aloof and unsure.

Everyone has needs
gets caught up in desires
wants more than they need
gets more than they can use
or is out there
putting the rest of us to the test.

Everyone spends time
on the bottom
at the top and in-between.

Lookout scars, here I come.
