Exposed My Heart. Poem by Christine Andy

Exposed My Heart.

Tick tok.
Time to get high.
I know you got to get by.
Where's that crack?
Where's that meth?
Smoke til the last breath.
Always awake. Never asleep.
Always broke. Pockets empty.
What a joke.
You did not adore me.
You chose to ignore me.
I was something not nothing.
Abused and used.
I laid down.
Exposed my heart.
I could not part.
I received no love only pain.
False love.
False hope.
False dreams.
Tried to fix it.
Not very realistic.
I failed.
Darkness unveiled.
My light no more.
My world somber.
How much longer?
Days passes.
Months passed.
Then at last love is what I finally found.
A flame was ignited in my hopeless heart.
My world no longer dark.
But how?
God is what I found.
His love did not let me down.
