Eye Opener Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Eye Opener

Made to stop and watch reality.
And actually observing,
Who it is that makes...
The feeling of being entitled,
Much easier to do.
Than participating in the process.

Taken for granted?
How the food,
And every piece of it we eat...
Has had someone depicted,
In movies and on TV...
As either a 'minority', lowlife.
Or a criminal of some kind.
While corrupted, crime infested...
And lowlife,
Are the hypocrites.
Everywhere like locusts.

In the medical field?
Doctors, nurses and supporting crew...
More diversed,
Than what is wanted to be exposed.
Publicly.

What sells to do well?
Deception.
Blame to claim on others.
Depictions and images of false displays.
Fictionalized and imitated.
Leaving many duped and tricked,
Into becoming homeless and hungry.
Fed upon selfishness, racism, conflicts.
And lies bought, sold and told to tell,
As cheap as possible.
Allowing it capable for anyone,
To buy into the nonsense.
With an investment of much ignorance applied!
Credited to debts and a life of unhappiness.
