Eyes That Notice...

'Your wishes, my son? '
To live life for what my heart sings
And to eavesdropp wherever beauty rings,
And to flower my eyes at the Sun in the horizon.

The whole world, in a mindless rant
For money, position and security,
Are running like dogs after dead bones.
Man today, like a theater personality,
Act, pretend, fear and try not to slip.

Here is a sleeping world, of utter futility,
Unmindful of the music of the universe,
And feasting on a life that is sick, dry and gritty,
Not looking up when the birds fly ahead,
And not smiling back at the moon's joviality.

Rather than me taking part in this strange play,
I would like to stand aloof, and rather watch
All this anxiety, and try not to attach-
Through the eyes of a viewer, in patient stay.

Doesn't the sunset wish for an audience?
That fiery red-orange that dissolves into darkness
In the midst of a soft smiling silence,
Wishes for a pair of eyes -
Eyes that I am willing to give in happiness.
