Fabricated Dreams Poem by Kathryn Garner

Fabricated Dreams

lets bask in the illuminating rays of the moon
take away the years and
fall into the illusion of innocent love
till the light burns and fades
till the night is done
every wrinkle in the iris
for every sin
every bleeding sight
that i cant know tonight

soon you will know
life requirers you to let me go
gone to run down the highway of hell
but i cant live a lie with you
its a life instead of a lie with you

not high off a drug
high off the way your lip hugs
against and with mine
your hands suspended with time
till the fabricated dreams
are forgotten
till the fabricated dreams
are your reality
take my heart and me
till everything you see
is what i was born to be
for you

kill that old mask of my mind
kill me
fill me
feel me
prove to me i can breath
prove to me i can be
alive tonight once again
my temporary sin
against god and hell

im laying here in your arms
losing my mind for you
just remove our clothes
the last mask we have left
killing the lies weve kept
peel the skin away
give me a heart
a heart that will stay
as the mind learns to stray
from the hands
to that coldly warm place
hiding so deep in all of us
feel me there in all sin
touch with my lips again
