Face Paint - Poem by R.Benjamin Abate

Flicking
Red paint
On your face

Freckled fury
Of wonder-
How a face

Like yours
Could feature
Polka-dots

Of
hot
Spotted silence

For you to wear
Nowhere in particular
& For you to brighten

One's mood-
Not that you needed
Such a distraction-

For you distract
Me enough
As it is
