Face the facts
Life retracts
To acts of two kinds
That have impacts
But whatever the kind
It springs from a mind
That rewinds all time
Back to a mask assigned
Two piercing are eyes
That close then rise
And surmise
A Surprise
It’s a face
In your memory that stares
You love, you hate
All come in pairs
Wonder why
The face was left there
Fixed like time
Steady like a set of stairs
When you so place the face
Facing front
You forget the human
Remember the instrument
Ready to kiss
Ready to deform
Faces haunt us
From a memory we form
