Fade Away Poem by jess schmeltz

Fade Away

Rating: 5.0

Broken pieces
fitting back together
slowly but surely
you'll fade forever.

I loved you once
You broke me twice
Hurting me
With fights and lies.

Pain in my mind
And pain in my chest
You did it all
You were the best.

At poking and prodding
Until I was numb
I gave my all
You gave me some.

Some of your heart
And a piece of your mind
All these things
I now leave behind.

I leave them to
Fade away
All the memories and sorrow
So I'll feel OK.

OK to live
And OK to love
You broke me down
But I'll ride above.

I'm no longer afraid
And I'm even more clever
Cause I knew you would
Fade forever.
