Fading Love Poem by Alexandro Hernandez

Fading Love

Blindly I reach out for you
sensing your presence
but grasping air
illusions taunt me
feeding my despair
choking on my words
I hopelessly stare
and lose myself in memories
of you and I

emptiness swirls round
diluting my heart
and magnifying this loneliness
consumed by this fire
I lay
burnt and broken
a sacrifice to sorrows altar

I'd give anything to
just see you
but anything is not enough
everything wouldn't even come close

I want for you to be here
to be near
close proximity
clear visibility
your body
your hands
those eyes
something of you
I can hold onto
that makes you real to me

but sensing you is not enough
dreaming of you
only makes it harder
harder to accept
what I've been alluding
all this time

your absence
tortures me
as I struggle to remember
what you look like

you're fading

and as I reach for you
Im clutching onto the only thing
that I seem to remember of you

my love.
