Failure Should Not Be A Shame Poem by Francis Duggan

Failure Should Not Be A Shame

This penning verse for many people in truth is a hungry belly game
Without any financial reward or even a slight bit of fame
So many novelists and playwrights and poets trying to build for themselves a name
At least they are having a go and failure should not be a shame.

For writers there's so much to write on inspiration is never far away
The Human world, the weather and politics and the big news stories of the day
And love, joy and sorrow and passion there is so much to write about
For subject matter the writers to write on will never have to go without

And then of course there's Mother Nature her beauty is beyond compare
The animals wild and domestic and the birds of the ground and the air
The rivers that flow to the ocean, the Woodlands the fields and the hills
The streams that flow to the big rivers that are fed by the clear mountain rills.

For most writers writing is a hobby those who make a living out of writing are rare
In the Literary World at least fifty thousand poverty line writers for every literary millionaire
Yet no shortage of subject material for writers on which to write
Though the climb to fame for many too daunting they never could scale such a height.
