Faith Poem by Piotr Kasjas

Faith

The world is dying for no apparent reason,
and we are only leaves in the wind - we go wherever the wind takes us.
We measure our shabby lives
by the shaky perception of grey reality.
We look for support in the clouds, but they're too far.
We pray to gods known only to us
for another ray of the rising sun.
And it matters not who we are or where we are going,
for we all carry the mark of being - the burden of life's mystery.

We cherish memories which are wrapped
in the shroud of death - they are waiting to be resurrected.
We create symbols, give them meanings which we do not fully comprehend
ourselves.
We believe in the greater good,
we believe in a better world.
Truly though it matters not what we believe in,
Only that we have faith.
