Fallen Angel Poem by Patrick Villareal

Fallen Angel

Rating: 4.0

Carried into the world by your loving grace
I enter seeing the harmony upon your face
Feeling the joy as you held me so tight
I am yours, never to leave your sight
Yours to nurture and watch grow
I am your angel; your water flow
The glory you made me to be
This all changed as I was set free
To dwell among the demons of society
Corruption and power destroy what is me
Like vermin manifesting within wooden walls
The purity of my soul spoils and falls
Despite your guidance, I give into temptations
Greed, lust, and anger are my infestations
Into the endless void I spiral out of control
As if I was Lucifer himself; my demons played their role
Not even you can reach me for my heart is sealed
My love slowly lost; shamelessly pealed
As I become a beast before your eyes
Your angel plummets from heavenly skies
To nestle in hate and despair
I am your fallen angel; you're burnt out flare.
