Fallen Down Poem by Gerry Legister

Fallen Down

Lost all I could lose
Inside with pride
Short with temper fuse
I go into the dark to hide

In deep sleep, woken up cold
Fell hard on the ground
something broke in my soul
left the gaping hole open.

I am left alone
I hear every sound
That the breeze has awoken
Breaking into my home

I have fallen, down
To the ground
