Fallen Dreams Poem by Gemma Southworth

Fallen Dreams

Searing flames and cruel black smoke
Stings your eyes and burns your throat
Metal bending and exits blocked
Some in denial, all in shock

Plummeting rocks and billowing dust
Red hot rockets and fates unjust
Lives and loved ones buried beneath rocks
Piles of debris strewn for blocks

Falling dreams in rising flame
Gone are both innocents and those to blame
Life as it was, been and gone
Memories and pain, always live on

Shock and horror, worldwide felt
At the cruel hands from which this is dealt
We will get them, lets all attack
But that wont bring the lost ones back

The world was changed from this day
Suspicions heightened and trust decayed
Never forget them, we must all remember
The tragedy played out on 11th September
