Fallen Grapes Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Fallen Grapes

The fallen grapes must be left for the poor and,
Do not destroy fuit trees around you;
For the carcass of an unclean animal becomes ritually unclean.

A Nazirite must let his hair grow during the period of separation,
But must shave it after this period with a sacrifice;
For the laws are written down for mankind to obey.

A man who violates a virgin must pay the bride price!
Because the tears on my face means a lot to me;
For my lover is like a hole dug out from a rock.

Fallen grapes,
And of the muse of things around me;
But one day i will be known by others for who i am.
