Fallen Memories Poem by Sage Sawyer

Fallen Memories

Fallen Memories
I step through the leaves
Their brown, brittle bodies
Decrepit and dead
Like forgotten memories
turned loose by this towering tree
One vibrant, vivid, and green
Whispering the secrets of spring
Through the soft summer breeze
Now they lie here
their bones crushed, their voices hushed
New leaves on the trees start to grow
And the old ones just had to let go
For new experiences and days
old times like dead leaves
Must blow away
