Falling Away Poem by Christopher A Johnson

Falling Away

Where to pick up the pieces of my life
Where to find my way
I look around only to find emptiness and hopeless dreams
Sorrow and anxiety, the perfect mix
I find myself waking up with nothing to gain but all to give
As the days go by I pray, but not to the gods but anyone who would listen
Someone to share my pain and sorrow
My insides feel like a frozen log reaching for the fire
Loosing its life only to time
The time that is falling away from me
Falling upwards it seems, but with my inability to jump
