False Comforter Poem by Red Brist

False Comforter

Rating: 3.0

I visited you
When you were small
Spoke with you
Showed you innocence
Convinced you to trust me
And a couple of my friends
I became your constant
The thought of living without me
Devastated you
Pushing you to the brink
I didn’t desire your death
I craved your suffering
With your hopeless spirit
Riddled in confusion
I wrapped you soundly in falsehoods
Gave you dreams of longing
And lost love
Time and time again
You crawled restlessly into my lap
Requesting comfort
The first time
You didn’t resist me
Slipping in from behind
A point of no return
I forced myself upon you
Until I saw you bleed
Tossing you to and fro
My very own rag doll
Sedated willingly
Like a dog
Who loves their owner
Even after they beat them
Sit mutt
Hear me now
I don’t love you
I loathe the very air you breathe
But now I’m inside
And you can’t ask me to leave
Grieve
Continue on in chaos
Wherever you turn
Withering into corners
While you vie in agony
I am pleased
Begging me to save you
At the same time
I will only ravage you
Hold that thought
Let me call the crew
They deserve a chance at you too
One after the other
Destroying you as I watch
You are in too deep
Pun
I’m in too deep
They are in too deep
Keep it up
Cry my puppet
Crawl my worm
Don’t you want to help me?
I helped you through your youth
You owe me
It’s only fair
So open wide
Hold still
The climax is cuming
A poisonous liquid
You won’t know the difference
‘It’s sweet’
(I tell you)
‘It will heal you’
(I tell you)
Oh jeez!
You emotionless oaf
You gullible fool
For 10 years
I played you
Raped you
Fed you toxins
10 years
You existed in a desirable pain
