What Has Come Over Me Poem by Red Brist

What Has Come Over Me

What has come over me?
I usually keep my cool
Hold back
Or put on a fake face
My guard is down now
I want to shout it out
Elated
I'm loving you
No brakes attached
Laughing loud
Moving closer
Intending not to overwhelm
But setting no bounds
Affections coming your way
Embrace
What you wish to push away
My smile is ready
Your brow is scrunched
Your only means of defense
Let's roll
Let's play
The sand stays on the beach all day
I'll dig for you
You dig for me
Little orange gutted creatures
Called Sand Fleas
Unseen you will see
Things of a world happy and free
Be silly with me
Because silly is what you could never be
