Familiar Poem by Harry St Vincent Beechey

Familiar

Familiar as the touch of a loved one's hand
The smell of Liver and bacon
The scent of evening roses
The taste of Chocolate
Of rich red wine
And the sound
Of voices
Known by
Cadence and Tone
Belonging, unmistaken,
To all that is uniquely bound
By memory to the personal past
That cements the Self into reality so Familiar
