Family Feast Poem by Alexander Romanov

Family Feast

A family dinner at my place tonight,
You stand in awe beside the table bright.
I'm an orphan, no parents by my side,
They're never seen, no matter how they tried.

Forgive me now, I must confess to thee,
I met your parents, they're with us, you'll see.
They're all here, smiling at you so sweet,
Let me announce the menu for this feast.

On a plate with blue rim - your dear father,
Tasty meat, you won't find it any better.
In a small yellow pot, crispy and fried,
Your grandma's dish, let's savor it with pride.

The main course sizzles on the frying pan,
Your mother's cooking, she's the best, my friend.
Here she is, where else could she possibly be?
Your little brother, just for starters, see?

We'll eat and listen to some soft music play,
But your screams make the chandelier sway.
Why are you freaking out, tell me true?
I joked, it's just some beef, nothing new.

No need for cops or checking plates tonight,
I spent half a day cooking with delight.
Don't leave, or all this will go to waste,
Stay with us, enjoy this lovely taste.

We'll eat and listen to some soft music play,
And savor every moment of this special day.
