Fare Thee Well, Marianne Poem by michael spangenberg

Fare Thee Well, Marianne

Casanova loved Marianne
Blonde-haired blue-eyed muse
at inexpensive Greek island Hydra
Where they lived without electricity
No need, everyday's power need
Re-fueled by the renewable energy
of their dazzling romance.

He's standing on an electric wheelchair
and her fine spider web is fastening
his ankles to a stone, like guillotines
For now he needed his hide-out love.
He's cold as a new Gillette razor blade
She left when he told he likes to
fool around with Curious George.

When Leonard learned that Marianne
was dying in Ålesund (ɔːləsʉn) , Norway
A municipality in Romsdal county
With a population of 45,032 as of 2016
he tenderly scribbled his farewell.

Well, Marianne it's come to this time
when we are really so old,
and our bodies
are falling apart
and I think I will follow you
very soon, my sweetheart love
Know that I am so close behind you
that if you stretch out your hand
I think you can reach mine.

And you know that I've always
Loved you for your beauty and
Your wisdom, but I don't need to
Say anything more about that
Because you know all about that.

Now, I just want to wish you
A very good journey
Goodbye old friend
Endless love, my muse
See you down the road
- Swift rebirth.

After finishing his email
He all of a sudden reimagined her
This is what he said:

Come over to the window, my little darling,
I used to think I was some kind of Gypsy boy
Before I let you take me home-sweet-home
Well you know that I love to live with you
But you make me forget so very much
I forget to pray for the angels, and then
The angels forget to pray for us.

We met when we were almost young
deep in the green lilac Disneyland park
You held on to me like I was a wooden crucifix
As we went kneeling through the dark forest
Your letters they all say that you're beside me now
Then why do I feel alone?

So long, Marianne, it's time that we began
to laugh-and-cry and cry-and-laugh
about it all over again
- Forever love.
