FAREWELL
I sit by the window near the hall,
And see the Autumn leaves gently fall.
The gardener gathers them up in a heap,
I have traveled many miles far and deep,
And earned my final restful sleep!
On earth we shall meet no more,
As I travel to some distant shore.
Try to forgive my faults if you can,
And the shortcomings of an old man!
You have always been a devoted mate,
We had been united by our fate!
We have seen both fair and foul
weather,
And faced them all, always, and together.
Now I can hear the knocking at the door,
Its time now for me to go.
Don’t shed your tears any more!
There comes the vision of the Golden Gate,
Remember dear, I shall forever wait!
