Fare thee well my love, and let us not say
Our time together was for ought than good,
For though the dark of parting's now to come,
The dread is born of memories all fair.
Smiled forth my heart as first I saw you play
Uplifted my spirit as loved one would,
Nor all the world's gold would furnish the sum
To purchase heart's ease thus beyond compare.
