Farewell My Friend Poem by Maria Shaw

Farewell My Friend

Rating: 5.0

These faded worn out letters are all that's left of you
yet they hold such precious memories of the love I have for you.
We danced in the rain without a care
and now the rain's so hard to bare.

You left me here alone,
how I wish you'd find your way home.
Though we couldn't live together, our love will last forever.
I've lost my best friend but my memories I'll treasure.

If only you'd picked up the phone,
If only you'd shared your pain,
we'd dance in the rain once more
and these tears would cease to fall.

I will not say goodbye,
we'll meet again when the time is right.
You're with the angels now
so for now I'll say farewell.
