Fate Of The Cockroach Poem by Precious Oboh

Fate Of The Cockroach

Little cockroach on my wall,
Little cockroach on my wall,
Thou woke up this morning happy,
Flying and buzzing around my head
Perfuming my room with your fragrance
Strong as skunk
And perching on my wall.
But see what fate awaits thee
Your adversary, the gecko is watching
The patient gecko watches you closely
Its back arch, ready to pounce on thee with precision and percussion
Oh little thing, here comes the catch and the kill
Struggling to be free from the jaws of death, your legs snap in its mouth
The struggle to be free seizes suddenly
Into the belly of the predator thy squashed and mashed body slithers through to rest in the slimey and grimey stomach of Hades
Yes rest my Noctunal pest! !
'Hmm What a tasty meal'
Says the gecko
