Fear The Rain Poem by Sky Welch

Fear The Rain

Rating: 2.0

I Fear the Rain!
The very sound of it is like nails to a chalk board
It has no mercy on people like me
when it rains I do not hear the soothing pitter patter, I hear screams
The very screams of people who are tormented by the rain
I do not scream for the rain
the rain will not break me
I refuse to scream for the rain
The rain loves the screams of people like me
But I will not scream
I Fear the Rain!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem out of anger toward my parents. I was upset about something they saidto me that was completely out of line. I kind of like this poem though it's a little darker than most of my poems and it kind of shows a hidden side to me.

'when it rains I do not hear the soothing pitter patter, I hear screams' - it's kind of a departure from what most people would like to think of rains. But you have a point.

As far as I can understand the rain is tears. It's a lovely write. I enjoyed it
