i wanted this feeling
of feeling nothing
of being oblivious to pain
i wanted to be like this
numbed and unfeeling
it is my defense mechanism
i wanted to be this way
protected from being hurt
my antidote to a poisoned bite
now i am drifting, floating
aimlessly among the clouds
is this what death is like?
