I dance even when i don't want to
I have many wants
Even more don't-wants
I'm just a lonely heart
Yearning for a beautiful ending.
People look at me like they know my life-story
They talk and boast as if they shape histories
Some people think they own the world
Some other don't feel quite belonged
They wish to leave this tragic kingdom almost immediately.
I'd like to think life is beautiful.
Would like to stop and smell every flower i see,
Would like to talk to strangers at the bus stand.
But i know, behind every smiling face
There's a sad story carefully concealed
There's insecurities neatly wrapped up.
So one day, i concluded, feeling pretty is a sin
I was told 'For every love letter written, there's another one burned.'
For every smile i fake, there's another life gone
So I guess i'd rather feel ugly and save souls
Would rather have darkness surrounding me.
I hope you look for beauty in everything....it is out there...good job

Nice poem Anies. I think talking to strangers can be the best feeling. You'd be suprised how quickly people want to open up and chat with you even if you'll never see them again. You never know the difference a kind word can make in somebody's day. I look forward to reading more of your work. Sincerely, Mary
