Feelings Of Helplessness Poem by Heather Z. Hanna

Feelings Of Helplessness

Helplessness
Gathering on my shoulders,
Weighing down my soul.
Passing over my limbs
Trying to take it's toll.
I shrug and breathe deep
Keeping it's web from clinging.
I fight to keep away
The burden of my loss.
To find the bright and beautiful thing,
That grabs my attention
And keeps me hold
Upon this wonderous orb.
This day, this life
With so much untold.
Needing a path to follow
Sometimes I make my own.
For me to hold still
Will be my undoing
And helplessness will gather
And surround by being
Trying to take it's toll.
Must take my Spirit's sword
To cut away the bindings
And free my aching Heart
To follow my longing Soul.
