FEELINGS THAT TRAVEL

It’s been fourteen years since they’ve spoke
People change with time
A family to adore
A loneliness in whole
Their lives crash together
Like waves on the shore
The silence interrupted by words through the line
A willingness to accept the change
A steep hill to climb
What sparked a flame once long ago
Now smolders in smoke
By rain and snow
To keep it honest and fair
A tough seed to swallow
As there’s a friendship there
That they still share
Courage and strength
The power to subside
Let nature run its course
Like the ocean’s tide
