Fickle Little Thing Poem by Akua Achampong

Fickle Little Thing

Rating: 5.0

Feelings can change as seasons do
Sometimes hot or cold.
Each different and new.
But will I feel the same about you in a few months
Who’s to tell?
Cause my hearts heavy
And it’s beginning to swell

And I know I won’t bear or take the pain- when it stops beating
But you’ll still be the same,

So its only natural that we call it quits
Stop this gambling game and hand in our chips.
Break the bonds that are holding me down
Put me first and turn this frown upside down.
Cause I’m happier now than I was before,
And I’ve learnt not to care so much any more.

In life you live and you learn, so when finally
It’s your turn,
To be abandoned and restrained to the ground.
I won’t run or deny you…
I’ll still be around.
