Finally! Poem by Rathish Sharma

Finally!

Almost always you appeared to me,
a geometry of addition and subtraction.
Some nights I’ve missed you
in dark corridors of my fears.
Some nights you thrilled me
with your silver shining tenderness.
But because of cowardice
I frequently fail you, then and now.
Almost always.

And, so in our shared secret province
we’ll never be together.

After all I’ve to mimic myself:
Escape from torments of remembrance.
My legacy is a wake of sufferings,
though you’ve been true to me
like horizon viewed by swan’s eyes.
After all, in these final moments,
I think there’re things I should erase.
