Finding Love On Suicide Bridge Poem by Leonard Dantzler

Finding Love On Suicide Bridge

Love evaded his heart, while hatred welcomed him with open arms
And Cupid purposely missed w/his arrows of passion.
He gave up on many because they triggered alarms
He, like the emo, wore loneliness as a fashion
His home, sweet home was still under construction
So the ground cushioned his head and the wind covered his body
He felt like he was ready to walk with the dead
Because His mind played the same dim melody

Her eyes shined with the mistakes of her past
Her hands were drenched in undeserved tears
Her heart was guarded by a fortress of ice
She walked hand in hand with loneliness
And said *Together we are alone.*
The pain you harbor is borderline to her neglected heart
*People Always Leave.* was her logo
She always pointed the blame at the silver picture
and the silver picture never failed to point back

On a bridge most famous for its jumpers
As they passed, she giggled as he laughed
They were a match made in Despair Heaven
He helped her up, as she pulled him close
Hand in hand they jumped
*Longing Eyes and Tired Minds*, finally resting because
Ones Hell is the others Heaven
