A Tidal Wave Of Love Poem by Leonard Dantzler

A Tidal Wave Of Love

If they looked into my heart
Then they'd find that you are now its one survivor; the one who braved the storm
It seems we are the sea, because with each push we corrode our way into the heart
And destroy the debris that lay around from previous hearts that have invaded and departed without a finger to lift for help
Beacon My Heart and drag me closer with those siren eyes
I feel so alive and yet you are my horizon, just over the waves and so far away
And I swim with my lungs collapsed, this automatic heart beat is my motor
But in the dawn, the darkness riddles of lies and deceit
And like the light to my dark-side, you, my bright-side, is standing ashore
And now my lungs work and light peaks into the corners of the abyss of dark and makes sense now
I swam into your arms and you tell me, I am the first and I am the last.
Be my angel and through these words we craft a heaven created for only us
And this is where we belong because this is just
Be my Voice and through these words we find our heaven
And this is where we belong, a palace fit for my soul and my heart(you)
And washed up upon the shore is all those who drowned in the pursuit to be your suitor
Still, is the water and winds that was my guide to you
