First Meeting Poem by Frank Avon

First Meeting

Rating: 5.0

She was walking across
the tree-shaded Quad,
no, not walking,
she was tripping across
ever so lightly.

She waved and shouted
to her friends - my friends.
'May I join you? ' she asked.
In an instant,
I knew we two...

at least in that hour
I knew, I knew,
that she and I
were meant to be,
if only she
could think so too.
